Minister's assurance of steps in the interest of industry in the state
Big, small and medium, all industries are equal to the state. Everyone is important here - This was the message given by the state's Industries Minister Shashi Panja at the Kolkata Chamber of Commerce function on Friday. He also assured steps to further expand the enabling environment in West Bengal to attract investment.
After taking charge of the Industries Department a few months ago, Shashi has claimed in various business meetings that Trinumul Congress under the leadership of Chief Minister Mamata Banerjee has ensured political and administrative stability in the state for the third time. Which is one of the criteria for investors to check the local environment before pouring capital. On this day too, the Minister of Industry gave the same message.
What's the story?
The opposition often taunts the government about the lack of big industries in West Bengal. Although that topic was not raised today, Sashi's claim, whether the investor is big, small or medium, no name is important to the state. Everyone is important. He said, be it day or night, as medicine is needed at any time, so is the important industry. So the state is also ready to provide round-the-clock support to the industry.
Another major area of criticism of the opposition is land for industry. They complain that there is a problem in the state in getting land needed especially for big industries. Shashi's message claims it is a misconception that the state has clear plans for this. Which was also supported by the Supreme Court. Investors in West Bengal can procure it by talking to the landowners directly. Or you can take the remaining land in various government industrial parks which have more than 10,000 acres.
Incidentally, a section of the opposition claims that industrial parks were created by acquiring those lands during the Left period. Hence they can meet the land requirements of large industries. Otherwise, it is not easy to directly buy land and build a big industry.
